Observation and interviewing are powerful materials to reveal weaknesses of the area. The view of the area was mostly grey and dirty with dilapidated buildings. The space was inconveniently designed and unsafe when it came down to traffic. Drugsdealers used the street, residents kept their shutters down and they felt almost no sense of community between each other.
Tactical urbanism in this area is used to bring the residents and shop keepers together, to make them feel strong and to show them that they may and can use their street. There now are colors on the wall, front gardens, salsa events in the street and pop up shops and offices.
the events in the street are about to create a new to be square that becomes traffic free, the buildings with colored walls are included in a transformation plan and the pop up shop- and officekeepers represent the target audience after transformation.
